Cruyff - Pickles Magazine

I was asked to produce an illustration by the team over at Pickles magazine for their bumper fourteenth issue, and what better way to celebrate issue 14 then celebrating arguably the greatest number 14 to ever play the game. The brief was to sculpt the legendary player, Johan Cruyff. The image i was asked to base my illustration off was taken from the 1974 world cup in West Germany where Cruyff captained his side to the final of the competition.

The finished piece stands roughly at 8 inches tall and was photographed on an orange background just to add an additional punch of the Dutch Orange. Like all my work the piece is completely handmade.

I am particularly fond of this piece as it was my very first illustration put into print.
